Congratulations to Northern Thunder - NTL Champions 2009/2010

The league creates a competitive environment in which young netballers aged from 14-19 can experience high pressure games on a weekly basis throughout the year. England’s most promising young netballers will have an opportunity to hone their skills and impress the national selectors en route to the senior game.

This season, Northern Thunder finished top of the table with 45 points ahead of Hertfordshire Mavericks on 37. The Northern Thunder squad will be presented with their winners’ medals and trophy at half time during The Co-operative Netball Superleague Grand Final.  England Coach Sue Hawkins will be joined on court by Cheryl Danson, England Netball’s Chairman, to present the trophy and medals.

Northern Thunder finished with a 100% record over the 9 games, beating Leeds Carnegie 54-43 in their final game to finish the season unbeaten.
